Making history for the next 1000 years
Creating a more flexible space to facilitate a wider range of community and worship activities in a beautiful historic setting
Generations of Christians have worshipped here, faithfully serving the people of Leatherhead. The church is part of our local heritage and continues to play an important role within our community.
However, the 21st century presents new challenges for our generation. We have therefore decided that our church building needs to be transformed from a one day a week, single use building into a seven day a week, multi-use building.
We have already completed the replacement of the rotting woodblock floor and uneconomical pipe heating and are in the process of remodelling some areas of the church to improve access-for-all.
Vital amenities, including kitchen and toilets, heating and lighting necessary to support significantly greater availability and dynamic usage of the church building are also planned as funds become available.
We are excited by the fresh opportunities this unique space will provide to make new community connections and attract additional visitors. Our aim is to grow a healthy, vibrant church in which lives are transformed and our community is enriched.
