“Worship lies at the heart of what and who we are as Christians: it shows God to us and us to God.”

Worship Changes Lives, CHP (2008)

Worship is the way that we as human beings respond to the grace, love and mercy of God. When we worship, we come closer to God and deepen our relationship with him both individually and as a church family. Worship just doesn”t happen on a Sunday, it is a way of life. When we meet together for worship we do so in a variety of styles. We feel blessed that we can offer services every Sunday and meet together in smaller groups during the week.

On Sundays we usually have two services, with an occasional evening service:

  • the 8am service is a said Holy Communion resting in the quiet beauty of the Book of Common Prayer
  • the 10.30 a.m. service uses Common Worship Liturgy, the organ and hymns led by our choir. During Communion, small vocal ensembles help lead worship alongside the organ, piano and other classical instruments. The first Sunday of each month is an All Age Communion with a mixture of hymns and songs
  • on the first Sunday of the month Evensong, on the fifth Sunday a Taize service, both at 4.00pm.

There are many opportunities to serve in the Worship Ministry Team, so do get in touch if you feel this might be something for you.

Bell Ringing

We ring twice on Sundays, also on national and local occasions, such as the Millennium Peal and for the Olympic Cycling Road Races. We take part in competitions with other bands.

We have social events and bellringing outings. Practice is on Tuesday evenings: we welcome new members and train novices, including juniors.

You can listen to a sample of our ringing on the player below:
